About Me

Hello and welcome! I’m Ashley! I am a bookworm with an enthusiasm for children’s and young adult tales. I love to read and geek out about great stories that I have enjoyed!

I’m a twenty-something that lives on Long Island. I am currently working towards my MLS degree at Queens College with a Certificate in Children’s and Young Adult Services in the Public Library. I’m a Children’s Librarian Trainee at a library close to my home. Before that, I was employed part-time as an Adult Reference Librarian Trainee, Circulation Clerk, and Teen Librarian Trainee at three libraries near where I live.

I graduated a few years back with a BA in English & Communications and I have taken a few courses at the NYU School of Professional Studies involving children’s book publishing, digital trends in the book industry, social media for publishers, and book marketing strategies. In the past, I have worked as a Sales Assistant for a professional publisher – I was there for almost two years before I decided to go back to school to obtain a MLS. I’ve worked as a bookseller and cafe server at Barnes & Noble as well as a Page in the Children’s Department of my hometown library.

I love living so close to NYC – it has given me the opportunity to partake in a ton of wonderful events! I enjoy board games, bowling, going to author events and meeting fellow book lovers, as well as seeing movies and museums. I am also a big fan of the New York Rangers, relaxing at parks and beaches, and seeing shows on Broadway!
