Top Ten Tuesday (13)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

Today’s theme is Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2015! I’m surprisingly ahead of my Goodreads goal of how many books I want to read this year. It was quite difficult to narrow down my favorite books I’ve read this year but here they are!

Books I’ve Read For The First Time This Year

Landline by Rainbow Rowell

While Landline isn’t my favorite book by Rainbow Rowell, I still loved her latest book! I thought the magic telephone aspect of the book was so cool! Also, it was interesting reading how Georgie and Neal first fell in love as well as how they solidified their relationship during troubled times.

The Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi

I am so glad that I waited to read these books until they had all been published! It was such an awesome experience reading the whole series back-to-back! These books have totally become one of my favorite fantasy series!

I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios

Instead of saying some words about why I adored this book, I’m just going to point you in the direction of my review of it, which you can read over here!

I Was Here by Gayle Forman

Even though this is probably my least favorite story by Gayle Forman, she’s still one of my favorite authors! Here’s another book that I’ve reviewed and you can check that out here!

Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson

This book has definitely been my favorite graphic novel that I’ve read so far this year! It’s so colorful and main character Astrid is a hoot! This is another read I’ve reviewed so check it out here!

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

So far, Station Eleven has certainly been my favorite adult fiction book I’ve read this year! The author just does such an amazing job at connecting her characters and then unfolding the links between them! Here’s yet another top ten book of this year that I’ve reviewed and you can read that here!

The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord

Besides just being a fantastic writer, Emery Lord is incredibly nice and funny! I really loved The Start of Me and You since I connected so much to protagonist Paige! For more gushing on why I cherish this tale, see my review of it here!

A Mad, Wicked Folly

A Mad, Wicked Folly by Sharon Biggs Waller

I’m normally not all that into historical fiction but I quite enjoyed A Mad, Wicked Folly! Although I found some of the book a bit predictable, Vicky’s so spunky and I liked how she grew up to help herself and other women!

A Few Rereads For This Year

Some Of My Favorite Books By Sarah Dessen

I ended up having to write a paper for my Materials for Young Adults class that recently ended and I chose to write about three of Dessen’s books. I reread Along for the Ride, Someone Like You, and This Lullaby, which all just reminded me of why I love Dessen’s stories and writing so much!

The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson

I rarely listen to audiobooks but I decided to when I needed to reread The Impossible Knife of Memory for a class! I was shocked to find out that I do like audiobooks but only when I’ve already read the tale before in a print version!

So what have been some of your favorite books you’ve read this year? Have you enjoyed any of the tales I’ve picked?

  • Monica

I am about to start Ignite Me, and I am also glad that I waited until they were all published because I would have gone crazy waiting a year for the next book. I have heard SO MANY wonderful things about Station Eleven and I hope to pick it up soon!

I totally love the Shatter Me series! I don’t have time to reread it but I think I may listen to the audiobook version sometime soon since I love it so much! I really enjoyed both Station Eleven as well as The Impossible Knife of Memory and I hope you do too once you read them!
